چکیده
Invasive non-indigenous crayfish species (NICS) are a major threat to the existence of native populations in European freshwater ecosystems. The discovery signal Pacifastacus leniusculus, marbled Procambarus virginalis, and spiny-cheek Faxonius limosus Estonia has increased risk extinction Estonia’s only species, noble Astacus astacus. aim this study was give an overview status, distribution, impacts P. F. limosus, virginalis on A. astacus assess effect trapping NICS abundance. Annual monitoring been carried out since 2008 as part conservation eradication plan. In study, we present data from nine sampling locations monitored 2010 2022. spread continues increase beyond their distribution areas, two leniusculus live sympatry. Our results suggest that limited population abundance, have already caused populations. However, intensive should continue simultaneously with sensitive molecular techniques monitor NICS.

Lunar-Rhythmic Molting in Laboratory Populations of the Noble Crayfish Astacus astacus (Crustacea, Astacidea): An Experimental Analysis
Juvenile noble crayfish, Astacusastacus (Crustacea, Astacidea) in the second year of age were kept in the laboratory for a twelve-month period under continuing "summer conditions" (LD 16:8, 19°C). Molting processes in this population could be synchronized by artificial moonlight cycles. Peaks of exuviations occurred at "new moons". Males showed a slightly higher degree of synchronization than f...
متن کاملOntogeny of osmoregulation in the crayfish Astacus leptodactylus.
Osmoregulation was studied during the postembryonic development of Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz 1823 in juvenile stages 1-8 and in adults. Juveniles hatch and later stages develop in freshwater or in moderately saline waters. The time of acclimation from freshwater to a saline medium increased from early juveniles to adults. At all stages, it was longer than in comparable stages of marine ...
متن کاملFreshwater crayfish Astacus leptodactylus (Eschscholtz, 1823) accumulates and depurates copper.
Cu accumulation and depuration in various tissues of the crayfish Astacus leptodactylus was investigated. Adult specimens were exposed to 0.5, 2.5 and 5.0 mg Cu/L under static conditions for three weeks. At the end of the 3rd week the specimens were divided into three groups and left in dechlorinated water for either 1, 2 or 3 weeks for depuration. After 7, 14 and 21 days, four crayfish from ea...
متن کاملAction potential and sodium current in the slowly and rapidly adapting stretch receptor neurons of the crayfish (Astacus astacus).
Action potentials (APs) and sodium current from the slowly and the rapidly adapting stretch receptor neurons in the crayfish (Astacus astacus) were recorded with a two microelectrode voltage- and current-clamp technique. In the rapidly adapting neuron the APs had a duration of 3.2 +/- 0.2 ms (means +/- SE) and an amplitude of 55.2 +/- 1.5 mV. In the slowly adapting receptor neuron APs had a dur...

The present work details the analysis of heavy-metal and metalloid concentrations in exoskeleton, gill, hepatopancreas, and abdominal muscle tissues of 60 crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus) specimens collected from Lake Hirfanlı, a dam lake located in Kırşehir (Turkey) with a low metal-contamination profile. Concentrations of 11 metals (aluminum [Al], chromium [Cd], manganese [Mn], cobalt [Co], n...
